B. Alexander’s Home Improvement is a full service handyman company built on quality, integrity, & professionalism. We are seeking a handyman for part time work with the ability to convert to a full time employee. Our work focuses on work orders, rental turnovers and minor rehabs for residential and some commercial properties
Qualifications
Position requires knowledge and at least 5 years experience with basic handyman skills that are including but not limited to:
- Strong drywall repair skills
- Working knowledge of Carpentry work, including framing, drywall installation, and finishing.
- Painting and touch-up work both indoors and outdoors.
- Plumbing: basic skills, ability to replace garbage disposals, faucets, and diagnose and solve common plumbing problems
- Electrical work: replace light fixtures, outlets, etc.
- Appliance installation & repair
- General interior and exterior property maintenance
- Handle routine maintenance tasks such as HVAC filter replacements, gutter cleaning, and winterizing
- Ability to problem solve
- Strong time management skills
- Basic troubleshooting & problem solving for clients
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines.
- Site clean up
General Requirements
- Must have own reliable transportation & during probationary period. A company truck will be provided after the probationary period. B. Alexander’s services the larger DMV area B. Alexander’s will provide gas reimbursement while on duty, and company card for gas and materials once truck has been assigned. Applicant will need ability to be insured once they receive company truck
- Must have own basic tools such as, but not limited to:6-in-1 screwdriver or equivalent, Drill, Reciprocating saw, Circular saw, Standard, plumbing, and electrical pliers, Electrical meter, Electrical hand tools, Jigsaw, Painting equipment (roller handles, brushes, etc)
- Must be able to pass background check
- Strong communication skills with customers and other personnel
- Be punctual, reliable, and hard working
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Company uniform will be provided
Pay: Part time work of 20 hrs weekly; $25/hr to $35/hr salary equivalent based on experience
Job Type: Part time contractual job of 20 hrs/week; ability to go to full time 40 hrs/week as business levels increase.
Expected Hours: 20 per week
Schedule
-8 hour shift
-2 to 3 days per week. Hours will increase as business builds towards full time hours.
-Saturdays as needed. No Sunday work.
