Position: Facilities Maintenance Lead
Responsibilities
Maintenance & Repair Oversight:
The Facilities Maintenance Lead will apply their knowledge of structural systems, building construction, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, roofing, and general property upkeep to diagnose issues, perform hands-on repairs, or coordinate with vendors as needed. This role plays a key part in maintaining operational standards and implementing facility maintenance best practices.
Vendor Coordination:
This position involves regular collaboration with third-party service providers to uphold property standards. The Facilities Maintenance Lead will manage vendor relationships, address performance concerns, and ensure timely resolution of maintenance-related tasks. Service providers may include, but are not limited to:
Security
Janitorial and parking lot sweeping
Landscaping
Roofing
Mechanical, electrical, and plumbing services
Waste and recycling services
Paving, sidewalks, and curb maintenance
Fire alarm and life safety systems
Stormwater systems
Snow removal
Pest control
Elevator maintenance
Towing
Tenant and Team Collaboration:
The Facilities Maintenance Lead will regularly communicate with tenants, addressing needs in a timely and professional manner. The role may also involve coordination with internal departments such as leasing, marketing, development, and construction to support broader operational goals.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required
Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in facilities or building maintenance
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Self-starter with a proactive mindset
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving history
Certifications in trades (electrical, HVAC, plumbing, etc.) are a plus
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and operate hand tools
Comfortable working at heights (e.g., climbing ladders)
Proficient with smartphones for communication, scheduling, and basic app usage
Familiarity with facility management systems for tracking tasks and inspections
Flexible availability, including occasional nights, weekends, and emergency response
