Hog Haven Farm seeking help for its farmers market operation in the Falls Church and surrounding areas.
We are a family run hog farm who also vends hot food (made on-site breakfast sandwiches featuring the pork we raise) at multiple farmers market locations in the area (mostly weekend) [www.HogHavenFarm.com].
We need both cooks and front-of-booth salespeople. Some kitchen and/or front house restaurant experience a plus, but will train the right candidates. Preference given to those comfortable in both the front and the back.
Most shifts are weekend mornings, 4 to 6 hours per shift, at locations mostly in NoVa, some in DC. Location you work from shift to shift will generally vary. Prefer candidates that drive and are willing to go where needed, especially if they have a vehicle that can carry supplies.
Preference also given to those willing to work some hours Friday afternoons and after the weekend markets at our Falls Church warehouse, helping to clean up and reset for the next day's markets.
Compensation is starting base of $10 to $14 per hour, depending on age and experience, plus tips and commissions at the markets. For market hours will consistently take home $25+/hr (cash payment at end of shift - there is a 3 shift paid training period, base only). Worker discount also offered and 1 free sandwich per shift. Warehouse hours pay base+$1.
