AV / Videoconferencing Design Engineer & Lead Installer Technician

Multiple positions available: Entry Level Beginner, to Sr. Lead Engineer & Design Engineer

AV & Video conferencing, low voltage, integration and service organization, is currently seeking an Entry Level to Senior Level full-time individual for multiple positions: CCTV/Low Voltage/ Lead AV Engineer / Design Engineer.

Majority of the work will be in the field at customer locations.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

2+ years of experience working in the custom AV & VTC integration field, and performing installations with CRESTRON, EXTRON control systems.

Experience in leading / supporting installations and work with standard audio-visual engineering drawing packages.

Experience in mounting and installing ceiling projectors & screens, wall mounted plasmas, configuring DSP & equipment rack wiring.

Experience with Videoconferencing Codec’s, MCU & other infrastructure gear (Polycom, Cisco).

A successful applicant must have good overall problem solving & troubleshooting skills, and be capable to interact with customers, electricians, general contractors, as well as have a neat/professional appearance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Complete site surveys / evaluation to determine customer requirements and design specifications.

Interpret and prepare blueprints, schematic drawings, and technical construction specifications.

Effectively coordinate and manage multiple system design projects

Strong working knowledge of Audio Visual systems design and implementation

Act as a liaison between sales team, clients, contractors, designers, IT administrators, management and consultants to determine detailed scope of work, bill of materials, project timelines and schedules

Provide estimated costs including but not limited to: installation, programming, commissioning and project management.

Provide technical support to field technicians with installation, testing and troubleshooting

Assist field technicians with installation, testing and troubleshooting

Ensure installation is completed per the design specifications

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

MUST have at least 2+ years of commercial or residential audio-visual & videoconferencing (VTC) installation experience

MUST have a Laptop, knowledge of Windows 7, and MS Suite, Visio or CAD

Hands on mechanical aptitude and soldering skills

Understanding of low voltage systems for audio, video, control and CCTV

Strong Knowledge of Videoconferencing (Polycom, Cisco) and Control systems (Crestron, Extron)

Candidate must be able to read, modify and follow blueprints, schematics, technical manuals and be capable of making changes in the field (on-site)

IT related experience Required

Good communication skills and customer service attitude

Ability to lift heavy equipment, as needed

AA or BA College Degree is preferred

Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record, auto insurance, and MUST have a vehicle

Enjoy working in a variety of locations on very exciting projects

Neat and professional appearance

Motivated, team players with a strong work ethic, ability to work without direct supervision

CEDIA, CTS, CTS-D, CTS-I, Polycom, Cisco, Crestron or Extron certifications are a plus.

- Travel in the local DMV area as well as 10-20% regional area is a MUST!

Mid Level position with 2-4 years of related experience: $25-40/hr

Sr. Level / Lead Technician with 4+ years of AV Experience: $40-55 /hr
