The Fairfax Law Foundation’s Northern Virginia Pro Bono Law Center is seeking to hire a dependable Paralegal/Assistant. This individual will help administer the pro bono legal programs, which assist low-income clients by finding free legal representation in civil matters. The Law Center operates a number of different programs, each designed to provide free legal help or representation to those most in need. This position also includes direct client contact, family law case analysis and interactions with attorneys. The Assistant will perform necessary paralegal, clerical and administrative duties, as needed, for the operations of the program. Candidates must have: Paralegal experience or equivalent training; administrative experience; excellent interpersonal and written communications skills; solid organizational skills; and knowledge/proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Responsibilities include:
Client screening and case analysis;
Preparing computer spreadsheets;
Using word processing software;
Maintaining program databases;
Developing and executing market strategies;
Helping to maintain relationships and communications with attorneys and law firms;
Preparing program promotional materials;
Drafting and executing written communications;
Generating reports; and
Performing grant related research.
