We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Criminal Defense Attorney to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in criminal law, a proven track record of successfully representing clients in various criminal cases, and a commitment to upholding justice.
An Attorney, or Lawyer, is a legal professional who advises and represents clients in relation to their legal rights in civil and criminal cases. Their duties include meeting with clients to discuss the various aspects of their cases, performing research to gather pertinent information for each client case and attending all pretrial hearings and hearings to represent the client in a court of law.
Responsibilities:
1. Legal Representation: Provide expert legal counsel and representation to clients facing criminal charges.
2. Case Management: Manage a caseload efficiently, ensuring all cases are handled with the utmost professionalism and attention to detail.
3. Courtroom Advocacy: Represent clients in court proceedings, including arraignments, hearings, and trials.
4. Legal Research: Stay abreast of changes in criminal law, precedents, and relevant statutes to build strong defense strategies.
5. Client Communication: Maintain open and transparent communication with clients, keeping them informed about the progress of their cases and addressing their concerns.
Experience:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
- Admitted to practice law in the Maryland
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as an attorney
- Strong writing and research skills
- Proficient in legal administrative software such as Lexis-Nexis and Westlaw
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple cases simultaneously
