We pride ourselves on building lasting client relationships in the community. We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Legal Assistant to support our probate and estate planning practice. The ideal candidate will be a self starter, reliable, and capable of managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced yet friendly environment. This role is essential to keeping the office running smoothly and ensuring high-quality service to our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare, format, and proofread legal documents such as wills, trusts, powers of attorney, petitions, and probate filings
Assist with case management, including calendaring deadlines, tracking document status, and maintaining organized client files (physical and digital)
Communicate professionally with clients, courts, and other parties via phone, email, and in person
File legal documents with probate courts (electronically and in-person as needed)
Conduct basic legal research and gather information relevant to client matters
Schedule client meetings, manage attorney calendars, and support daily office operations
Notarize documents (if certified) or be willing to obtain certification
Maintain client confidentiality and uphold ethical standards at all times
Qualifications:
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
High attention to detail and ability to work independently
Prior experience in a law office is preferred but not required
Ability to interact with clients facing emotionally sensitive issues with compassion and professionalism
