Responsibilities:
Lead a crew of 2-5 crew members
Oversee day-to-day site operations and delegate work to crew members
Keep track of crew hours in Aspire landscape maintenance application
Ensure all crew members perform their work safely and in accordance with company policies
Work with managers to ensure materials are loaded, equipment is properly maintained, issues on properties are dealt with in a timely manner, and other responsibilities as needed
Report accidents or property damage to Manager(s) and office
Assess equipment and vehicle issues as they arise
Operate push or riding lawnmowers; may operate heavier tractor equipment if needed
Water all plants and lawn, and ensure all plants are evenly covered
Spread fertilizer, plant food, mulch, and other materials around plants
Remove weeds and dead plants; prune overgrown limbs and leaves
Operate string trimmer and edger to remove overgrowth and keep outdoor area tidy
Use leaf blower to clear walkways and pedestrian areas after lawn maintenance
Treat lawn and landscaping with pesticides to remove harmful insects
Maintain the existing landscaping design and ensure plant survival
Plant new flowers, bushes, plants, and decorative shrubs
Rake fallen leaves and remove debris
Remove tree limbs, overgrowth, and other hazards
Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment required to complete projects
Assist in manual lifting/moving and transporting materials using shovels, wheelbarrows, carts, etc.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment, including work site and equipment
Help with snow removal during winter months
Requirements:
Has the ability to lead and teach others
Can intelligently communicate with homeowners and property manager
A minimum of five years as a landscape maintenance laborer or two years as a crew leader
Must be able to operate lawn maintenance equipment such as lawnmowers, string trimmers, leaf blowers, hedge trimmers, etc.
Must have valid driver’s license with clean driving record
Must be willing to work the occasional Saturday
Ability to work both independently with little supervision and as part of a team
Ability to walk, stand, crouch for long periods of time and carry out strenuous physical tasks
Ability to lift a minimum of 80lbs repeatedly through an entire work shift
Work outdoors in various conditions including heat and humidity, rain, dust, noise and cold
Exceptional time management, leadership, and communication skills are required to be successful in this role
Bilingual English/Spanish is required
