Construction company in Washington, DC is looking for Cement Mason Instructor for an apprenticeship program.
Candidate must provide related classroom instruction in the technical and theoretical subjects related to the occupation of cement mason, twice per week for a minimum of 144 hours per year for the 3-year program.
Requirements:
High School diploma, GED certification or equivalent along with formal training in masonry, preferable but not required.
Must have 7+ years of experience in cement mason work.
Ability to establish and maintain an effective learning environment; ability to communicate effectively; both orally and in writing. Plan and organize instruction in ways which maximize student learning.
Maintain class records and submits reports of attendance, grades, and instructional records.
Must also have knowledge in laying bricks and concrete block, finishing sidewalks, curb and gutter, mixing and spreading of cement and other bonding agents. Provide instruction in a safe and effective use of tools: levels, hammers, squares, trowels, chisels, edgers, brooms.
