Lebanese Taverna Restaurants Group is seeking a Kitchen Manager (Sous-Chef) for its Washington D.C. location.
Responsibilities:
- Assures accurate production of menu items to recipes.
- Always maintains adequate par levels of a variety of menu components.
- plans and execute daily production.
- Personally supervises, expedites, and participates in cooking during service periods.
- Ordering, receiving and proper storage of grocery, produce, meat, poultry, and fish.
- Possesses expertise in butchery, bulk production of recipes. Trains and promotes staff.
- Plans for and executes catering orders and special events.
- Maintains a professional appearance and demeanor, interacting with guests as required
- Controls food and labor costs to meet guidelines.
- Runs weekly schedules based on confirmed events for the week.
- Provides quality service while maintaining organization, cleanliness and sanitation of work areas and equipment.
Experience Requirements:
Minimum 2 years of similar experience in up-scale/casual kitchens or the equivalent. Additional experience in Mediterranean cuisine and particularly Lebanese will be a plus.
