Shift Supervisor / Hourly Manager - Elevate Guest Experiences at Taqueria Xochi

Taqueria Xochi is looking for a dedicated Shift Supervisor to assist our management team in day-to-day operations, support staff during service, and embody the Standards of Mexican Hospitality. Your Role:

As a Shift Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising shifts and taking on the role of Expeditor to ensure smooth communication and efficient operations between the kitchen and Front of House staff.

Guest Experience:

- Ensure all staff embody our mission, providing responsive, friendly, and attentive service.

- Manage scheduled shifts thoughtfully, balancing guest expectations and profitability targets.

- Maintain restaurant cleanliness and aim for an “A” grade from the Department of Health.

- Serve as an ambassador of the Taqueria Xochi brand, positively impacting guests, the team, and the community.

- Welcome guests warmly, fulfilling needs.

- Embody Taqueria Xochi Service Culture.

- Maintain cleanliness and professionalism.

- Know policies, values, menu presentation.

Operations Management:

- Provide support to staff during service.

- Motivate and inspire the Front of House team to deliver exceptional service daily.

- Assist the management team in leading day-to-day operations through hands-on leadership and attention to detail.

- Act as an expeditor to ensure smooth communication between the kitchen and Front of House, and to coordinate orders.

- Inform Chef of dietary needs and requests.

- Participate actively in achieving company objectives related to service quality, consistency, labor costs, and satisfaction.

- Work with the management team to foster a team-oriented environment focused on service, hustle, and continuous improvement.

- Be knowledgeable about restaurant policies and monitor compliance, enabling prompt and fair corrective actions.

- Understand dish presentation thoroughly.

- Set up station, aligning with sidework checklist.

- Adhere to safety policies and guidelines.

Qualifications:

- Strong teamwork and communication skills.

- Organizational skills and attention to detail.

- Flexible availability: days, nights, weekends, holidays.

- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a supervisory role or as an Expeditor.

- Previous experience in a leadership, supervisor, and/or management position.

- Positive attitude and passion for guest service.

- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, energetic environment.

- Ability to handle and move objects up to 20lbs.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- Proficient in Toast or other POS software.

- Spanish speaking or understanding is a plus!
