Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated part-time e-commerce assistant/photographer to join our small home business team in Lorton, VA. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in enhancing our online presence and driving sales through various e-commerce platforms. This contract position will be responsible for detailing product listings, preparing and photographing products, storing inventory, and occasional other duties as needed. No formal photography skills or prior experience needed.
Position is a part-time independent contractor position with flexible hours (anytime between Monday-Thursday). Job could be ideal for a parent with school-aged children interested in a part-time commitment that offers great flexibility (for field trips, school programs, sick children, doctor's appointments, teacher conferences, snow days, etc.).
Duties
Note product details for fellow staff to use in e-commerce listing, ensuring accurate descriptions and pricing
Prepare/stage and photograph inventory
Put away inventory accurately using store system, ensuring smooth and efficient retrieval for sale/shipping
Communicate effectively with managers regarding the listing process, supply needs, availability, troubleshooting needs, etc.
Work independently
Experience
Previous experience in an e-commerce role is preferred, but not required
Strong understanding of e-commerce platforms is helpful
No computer skills or prior photography experience needed
Compensation
Compensation is calculated at $1.75 per item. Previous assistants have earned between $16-25/hour depending on their individual efficiency and pace. Our target is to photograph 200 items per week (appx 15-20 hours).
