Feynman School is seeking a dedicated and innovative Elementary Teacher to join our team at our gifted and talented STEM-focused school. The ideal candidate will have a passion for fostering creativity, innovation, critical thinking, and character development in young learners. This role involves implementing a dynamic curriculum that integrates STEM subjects with a focus on hands-on learning and real-world problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver a comprehensive, interdisciplinary STEM curriculum that challenges and engages gifted and talented elementary students.
Incorporate project-based learning, technology, and inquiry-based instruction to foster creativity, innovation, and critical thinking.
Design and facilitate hands-on experiments, activities, and projects that encourage students to explore and apply STEM concepts.
Promote character development and social-emotional learning, emphasizing qualities such as perseverance, integrity, collaboration, and empathy.
Assess and monitor students’ academic progress and personal growth, providing constructive feedback and differentiated instruction to meet individual needs.
Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages risk-taking, curiosity, and a growth mindset.
Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and the wider school community to enhance the educational experience and support student success.
Stay current with advancements in STEM education, incorporating new ideas and best practices into the curriculum.
Participate in professional development opportunities and contribute to the school’s culture of continuous improvement.
Organize and participate in extracurricular activities, clubs, and events that promote STEM learning and character development.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, STEM Education, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
Proven experience teaching elementary students, preferably in a gifted and talented or STEM-focused environment.
Strong knowledge of STEM subjects and a passion for integrating these areas into the elementary curriculum.
Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive and engaging learning environment.
Strong organizational and planning skills.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and the wider school community.
Commitment to ongoing professional growth and development.
Work Schedule:
This is a full-time position with a standard school-year calendar.
The position requires availability during regular school hours and occasional after-school events or meetings.
