Sunshine Academy is currently in search of inspirational, motivated and qualified teachers to teach reading, writing and math to 1st through 8th graders or to teach SAT/PSAT English on Saturdays and Sundays. The teaching will be conducted in person.
Sunshine Academy is dedicated to empower all elementary, middle, and high school children in Fairfax County and neighboring counties to improve and enrich their reading, writing, math, critical thinking, and test taking skills over the summer as well as throughout the school year.
Job Description:
- Teach reading, writing and/or math to 1st-8th grade students: 9:00am to 1:00pm on Saturdays, 2:00pm to 6:00pm on Sundays.
- Teach SAT and PSAT English to high school students: 9:00am to 1:00pm on Saturdays, 2:00pm to 6:00pm on Sundays.
- Can teach at any of these locations: Vienna and Falls Church.
- Empower and inspire students to read and write at above-grade levels.
Compensation:
- Based on qualifications and experiences, we pay an excellent hourly rate.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in teaching children required
- Connects easily with children to explain concepts, motivate and help them follow directions
- Outgoing, enthusiastic and responsible
- Excellent communication skills
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Current/Retired elementary school teachers preferred
