GAP Community Child Development Center, a leading early childhood program in D.C., is seeking high-energy, positive Assistant Infant & Toddler Teachers to join our team.
What You’ll Do:
Assist teacher with creating and deliver engaging, age-appropriate lesson plans.
Guide children’s development using ITERS and NAEYC standards.
Foster a nurturing, structured learning environment.
Track and document children’s progress through observations and assessments (ASQs, portfolios).
Communicate effectively with parents to support each child’s development.
Support a diverse group of children in reaching developmental milestones.
Participate in ongoing training and professional development.
Collaborate as a team player, contributing to a supportive and respectful workplace.
What You’ll Need:
A current CDA (Infant, Toddler, or Preschool endorsement)
Prior teaching experience in a large child development center is highly preferred but not required.
Must have a positive attitude and a strong commitment to engaging children and families in a warm, welcoming, and professional manner.
High energy, positivity, and a commitment to teamwork.
Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
Ability to pass background checks, a drug and alcohol test, health screening, and meet OSSE requirements.
