Job Description:
As the Accountant, you will play a vital role in managing and maintaining the company’s financial records. This role is ideal for a motivated individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced, small-business environment. You will be responsible for a variety of accounting duties, from routine bookkeeping to more complex financial analysis, all while ensuring compliance with financial regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
Prepare financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
Ensure timely payment of subcontractors and vendors.
Monitor project budgets and provide financial analysis for ongoing projects.
Coordinate with project managers to track project costs and profitability.
Prepare and file tax returns, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.
Provide financial insights to the management team to support decision-making.
Ensure the accuracy and integrity of all financial data.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field OR 3+ years of accounting experience in construction accounting processes OR Associates Degree and 2+ years small business accounting experience.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Timberline) and MS Office, particularly Excel.
Non-Dependent but preferred experience with CM/ACCOUNTING software such as procore, autodesk construction cloud (building connected), and Project.
Strong understanding of construction industry accounting, including job costing and WIP (Work In Progress) reports, is a plus.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Clear understanding of state and federal quarterly filing procedures for small businesses.
Attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to meet deadlines.
