METCOR/LSIhas a need for a Technical Writer to support the development and delivery of technical, procedural, and/or soft-skills training materials for federal employees. This position isfull-time, remote,and offers a long-term opportunity for internal growth within an established organization.METCOR/LSI maintains a drug-free work environment. U.S. citizenship is required.Duties and Responsibilities in the Technical Writer role:
Collaborative design and development of training materials (presentations, quick reference tools, instructor/participant guides, etc.) on a variety of topics
Creating style guides, quick reference sheets, eLearning storyboards and various training support materials
Editing and content review for team members
Providing technical support during virtual training delivery
Conducting end-user support for client
Research and study to become a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on a variety of topics
Required Skills and Abilities for the Technical Writer role:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to review and correct grammar, punctuation, inconsistencies in style, and spelling errors
High degree of flexibility and adaptability
Analytical skills and a high level of attention to detail
Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office with emphasis on Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced work environment
Aptitude for new technology
Education and Experience for the Technical Writer role:
Bachelor's degree required (in a related field such as Instructional Design, Education, or English preferred)
1+ years of training content creation preferred
Physical Requirements of the Technical Writer role:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
Compensation
$50,000 - $78,000 annually
