Our industry-leading client is looking for a talented Science Writer with a strong scientific background to translate scientific findings from peer-reviewed academic journals into plain language for diverse audiences.
Due to federal security clearance requirements, applicant must be a United States Citizen or Permanent Resident with the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance. Responsibilities of the Science Writer: - Develop and propose story ideas to inform CJ field about programs and initiatives
- Create accurate, interesting, and readable articles of interest for primary audience
- Work closely with staff to draft, review, and revise content
- Produce content for bi-weekly podcast episodes
- Interview subject matter experts
Requirements of the Science Writer: - Bachelor's degree in Journalism or related field
- Senior-level experience writing and editing science-based materials
- Excellent writing and editing skills, knowledge of style guidelines
- Ability to translate complex concepts into easily understood language
