Our industry-leading client is looking for a talented Science Writer with a strong scientific background to translate scientific findings from peer-reviewed academic journals into plain language for diverse audiences.

Due to federal security clearance requirements, applicant must be a United States Citizen or Permanent Resident with the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.

Responsibilities of the Science Writer:
  • Develop and propose story ideas to inform CJ field about programs and initiatives
  • Create accurate, interesting, and readable articles of interest for primary audience
  • Work closely with staff to draft, review, and revise content
  • Produce content for bi-weekly podcast episodes
  • Interview subject matter experts

Requirements of the Science Writer:
  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism or related field
  • Senior-level experience writing and editing science-based materials
  • Excellent writing and editing skills, knowledge of style guidelines
  • Ability to translate complex concepts into easily understood language
