DescriptionMust have an active DOE Q or active DOD Top Secret to apply!Leidos is hiring a full-time Program Action Officer in Washington, DC to provide critical support to the Office of Stockpile Management (NA-12), Front Office/Executive Director, Department of Energy, National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA). This dedicated and talented individual will directly contribute to activities that compellingly communicate NA-12’s vision, accomplishments and challenges to key stakeholders, strengthening the perception of NA-12 as a responsible, reliable, active and effective organization furthering the nuclear deterrence mission. If you’re an organized Program Analyst/Program Action Officer with strong critical thinking and communication skills, impeccable attention to detail, intellectual curiosity and an understanding of/appreciation for the importance of nuclear stockpile management, please keep reading.Key support areas will include: DOE/NNSA Coordination; Strategic Communications Support; and Reporting Data, Statistics, and Analysis.The successful candidate will be an experienced individual with expertise working in government, DOE, DoD or military environments. Individual must have a depth of experience working in a classified environment and relevant understanding of policies and procedures applicable to support NNSA programs. The individual must be self-starting, possess an ability to work in a highly dynamic environment, and have an ability to interface with a broad range of federal and military senior staff and leadership.This is a full-time position located in Washington, DC, on-site at NNSA-HQ Forrestal Building.Key Attributes and Roles/Responsibilities:Key qualities of an outstanding Program Action Officer/Program Analyst include very strong project planning and project management skills, superior writing and communication skills, excellent strategic and critical thinking skills, strong decision-making skills and solid judgment. Ideal candidate will be adept at creative thinking and problem solving and should be a true self-starter who works independently with initiative and self-managed deadlines. The NA-12 Front Office is an exceptionally fast-paced workplace where an innate sense of pace and urgency and the ability to work productively and proactively, both independently and as part of a team, are key.

Serve as an interface between the Program Staff, NA-12 Leadership, external teams (NA-10, Congressional Affairs, Public Affairs, etc.) and external organizations, (DoD, GAO, etc.) for engagements and information requests related to stockpile sustainment and modernization topics.

Facilitate daily operations of the NA-12 Front Office, including executing plans, schedules, assignments and oversight of organization activities.

Direct and oversee the receipt, tasking, tracking and closure of all internal and external tasks and correspondence.

Execute the action tracking process to include receiving, recording and tracking action items, distributing action items to the appropriate personnel, and coordinating responses with multiple internal and external offices. Analyze each item received to determine appropriate dissemination for action, coordination, and/or information. Correspond with internal and external offices to clarify actions and negotiate deadlines. Assign suspense dates to each action.

Monitor progress on actions and generate metric reports that demonstrate accountability for meeting deadlines and quality expectations. Prepare periodic reports on action status and keep leadership aware of late, pending and new actions and maintaining the action item database.

Tracking important milestones or actions for NA-12 leadership/senior staff.

Prioritize work by considering its risk, importance, urgency, and potential business, organizational, and client implications.

Provide timely verbal and written communications and consistently present information in a clear and concise manner.

Drafting, writing and editing reports, briefs, correspondence and other documents

Ensure that products are documented and completed in a professional and timely manner, and in conformance with DP, NNSA, and DOE policy and procedures, including compliance with managing classified information.

Maintains knowledge of DP, NNSA, and DOE policies and procedures.

Participate in external meetings, conferences and events on behalf of NA-12.

Participates in special projects as required.

Absorb broad objectives from management, then independently analyze, evaluate, and integrate solutions for complex and diverse problems.

Managing classified and unclassified documents and records in accordance with NNSA policies and procedures.

Researches and investigates new or improved business process and practices for application to the Program.

Performs a variety of complex, programmatic and technical support services involving data analysis, process analysis, program plan and policy development, and strategy development.

Provides program management support in the preparation, coordination, evaluation, review and analysis of program execution plans and tracking, monitoring, and reporting of program-specific milestones.

Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications:

Active DOD Top Secret clearance or Active DOE Q clearance.

Bachelor’s degree in related field with 10+ years of related experience required, of which 5+ years of experience is working in classified and unclassified environments or Master’s degree in a related field with 8+ years of related experience required, of which 5+ years of experience is working in classified and unclassified environments

Excellent written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated experience in writing and editing briefings for senior and executive managers

Proven ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities

Excellent attention to details and diligent adherence to deadlines and deliverables

A high-level performer with the ability to be proactive and respond rapidly to changing conditions in a fast-paced environment

Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite with particular emphasis on word processing, presentation, and spreadsheet applications (MS Word, MS PowerPoint and MS Excel)

Some travel is required

Preferred Qualifications:

NNSA/DOD Interagency experience

Nuclear weapons program experience

Interagency experience such as DoD etc
