Summary This position is located at Bureau of Engraving and Printing, within the Warehouse Materials and Distribution Division. As a Materials Handler, you will perform duties associated with shipping, receiving, warehousing, issuing and storage of supplies and equipment using Materials Handling Equipment (MHE) in the production of U.S. Currency and Special Security Printing allied support functions. Responsibilities As a Materials Handler, you will: Unload materials with materials handling equipment (MHE) such as forklifts, clamp trucks, barrel lifts, hand jacks, electric Walkie Power Industrial Trucks, and another miscellaneous manual and electric MHE. Direct the storage of security paper used in the production of currency along with other security items. Maintain custody of security items pending requisition requests from manufacturing sections. Locate and issue items by using the Bureau Enterprise Network (BEN), compare identifying information on documents with stock tags, bay markings, or box markings. Select stock in the quantities indicated by the document, report's location discrepancies and damage to supervisor. The incumbent is required to hand-carry items weighing up to 25 pounds or place on hand trucks a variety of packaged items weighing up to 50 pounds. The incumbent is required to operate a variety of material handling equipment including forklifts, boom lifts, and electric pallet jacks, etc. The incumbent may be required to kneel, bend, and climb on ladders in order to accomplish the assigned duties.
