Job Description:The National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) has opportunities for one Law Clerk in the Government Affairs, Financial Policy Team. This position will be responsible for assisting the Financial Policy Team with general legislative research and tracking involving state and federal statutes, pending legislation, administrative regulations, regulatory guidance, NAIC proceedings and case law, with a heavy focus on tracking federal legislation, updating publications, and drafting comment letters and reports for Congress and Federal Agencies. Additional legal assignments may develop, such as assistance with memoranda, legislative summaries, briefs and other work products. Skills and Abilities: Excellent analytical and communication skillsEfficient and accurate research skillsAbility to distill complex concepts into brief summariesStrong organizational skills with attention to detailProficiency with internet-based legal research tools and knowledge of Microsoft WordRequirements: Candidates must be working toward a Law Degree, second- or third-year student preferredSchedule:  The position is expected to work 10-15 hours during school semesters with potential for up to 37.5 hours per week, during the summer. Location:Washington DC OfficeCompensation:  $17.50 per hour.Interested in learning more about the amazing benefits the NAIC offers?
