SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Working in Amtrak's Northeast Corridor Service Line (NECSL), the Lead Business Analyst position will make a meaningful impact on the Northeast Corridor, the busiest railroad in North America, which sees over 2,200 trains daily. You will work in the Commercial, Northeast Corridor Service Line department, utilizing your skills to research, analyze, and support various business development projects aimed at increasing revenue, reducing costs, and improving the overall customer experience. Individuals in this role use transportation knowledge and analytical skills to support assigned projects, including:

• Develop research, reporting, and analytics.

• Develop metrics to track overall NEC performance.

• Design and develop proposals to improve the customer experience on the Northeast Corridor.

• Support, as needed, the Next Generation Acela high-speed trainset program and Intercity Train Set program, including Workforce Readiness and other cross-departmental needs.

• Work with team members and subject matter experts to coordinate efforts on assigned projects.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: • Research, collect and analyze data for train services on the NEC (ridership, revenue, expenses, customer satisfaction, etc.) and compile weekly reports aimed at improving NEC performance • Develop and propose innovative solutions to deliver improvements in all aspects of the customer experience in the NEC. • Monitor competitive trends to help capture new customers and increase ridership. • Research and develop business cases to drive process and customer level improvements to present to leadership. • Recommend changes and improvements to schedule, stopping patterns and frequency.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: • Bachelor's Degree in Transportation, Business, Economics, Urban Planning or related fields, or equivalent combination of education and training/experience

• Experience identifying and prioritizing strategic opportunities and working cross-functionally to build support

• Experience with sourcing and evaluating data from diverse repositories • 6+ years of relevant working experience • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Must be highly organized and have the ability to work productively, be detail-oriented, maintain high level of confidentiality and work with tight deadlines.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: • Project management experience • Familiarity with data analytics software, including Pivot Tables, Power BI, and R • 9+ years of relevant experience
