Salary Range: $119,000 – $132,000 and commensurate with experience

 Position Summary The Director, Health Systems Strengthening and Integration (Director, HSSI) is a pivotal leadership role responsible for shaping and guiding the strategic direction of NASTAD’s efforts to strengthen and integrate governmental public health systems across the country, with a focus on Ryan White, ADAP, and Medicaid programs and surveillance infrastructure. The Director, HSSI will lead initiatives that support health departments in modernizing data systems, improving service delivery integration, and aligning federal funding streams like Medicaid, Ryan White, and other public health programs to maximize public health impact. This individual will lead a multidisciplinary team and partner with senior leaders at health departments to drive systems-level change that improves health outcomes for communities impacted by HIV, hepatitis, STIs, and substance use.Essential DutiesCreate a vision and plan for short- and long-term efforts at strengthening public health systems across the country that is aligned with NASTAD’s strategy and available (or potential) resources for new business development.Lead business development efforts, including identifying new grants or other fiscal resources to advance our Health Systems Strengthening and Integration work, writing grant proposals, and cultivating partnerships.Lead and manage the planning, design, and execution of complex projects across NASTAD’s portfolio, but especially our technical assistance and capacity-building efforts related to Medicaid, Ryan White, ADAP, surveillance modernization, and the alignment and integration of these programs.Supervise and mentor staff across multiple projects, supporting professional development and designing systems for cross-collaboration.Cultivate and manage relationships with federal partners (e.g., HRSA, CDC), external consultants, and health departments.Ensure programmatic deliverables are met, budgets are managed, and project reporting and evaluation are conducted on time.Promote the use of equity-informed and community-engaged approaches to systems strengthening.Provide strategic thinking and problem solving related to organizational, operational, programmatic, and policy development as a member of the Organizational Leadership Team (OLT).Represent NASTAD in national conversations on health systems integration, and disseminate lessons learned via publications, presentations, and convenings.
