As a member of the MSNBC Digital copy desk, the copy editor is the last line of defense to ensure that our articles, columns, blogs and live blogs are of the highest quality possible. Whether it’s a long feature or a short breaking news blog, we will look to the copy editor to make sure our coverage is free of errors and typos and has context and clarity. The copy editor plays an essential part in producing compelling coverage that helps to expand our growing readership.You will have excellent news judgment, and an understanding of the MSNBC brand, standards, its shows and its on-air hosts.Position is based in New York City or Washington, D.C.This position is represented by the Writers Guild of America East.Responsibilities:Edit quickly and thoroughly, sometimes after pieces are publishedEngage in productive dialogue with reporters, editors and managers as neededMake sure MSNBC.com’s coverage meets the highest standards
