Aerotek's client is a minority-owned general contractor serving commercial, municipal, and federal clients in Washington, DC, Virginia, and Maryland. They are currently seeking 4 commercial carpenters to assist them with government projects in DC.Job Responsibilities:
Tasks include wood/metal wall framing, installation of sheetrock, finishing of sheetrock, installation of commercial doors and hardware, sanding and painting of sheetrock walls, insulation, painting and/or staining of millwork, installation of ceiling grid and tiles, and other general carpentry repair tasks.
Plans and lays out work from blueprints, drawings, models and verbal and written instructions
Uses a variety of hand tools, portable power tools, and standard measuring instruments
Inspects and diagnoses problems to determine corrective repairs
Performs a wide range of construction activities and other duties as assigned
Additional experience in drywall finishing, finish carpentry, or painting is a plus for phase 2 of the project.
