DescriptionICF seeks a Project Director to work within our Youth and Adult Education (YAE) portfolio. The YAE portfolio provides federal, state, and other clients with a wide range of technical assistance, applied research, evaluation, and continuous quality improvement services. Our work focuses on important education policy issues; uses proven and innovative methods for delivering high-quality, timely technical assistance; seeks to inform and support education stakeholders in learning how to implement promising practices; and involves working closely with clients to ensure that services are relevant, responsive, useful, and make a difference. The Project Director will work with clients such as U.S. Department of Education, State and local educational agencies, and schools.Location:This role will be remote in the Mid-Atlantic region ( DC, DE, MD, NJ, PA ) with occasional travel.Roles/Responsibilities:In this role, you will be responsible for leading large education technical assistance projects, to include establishing project direction; leading teams of staff and partners; overseeing the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of technical assistance initiatives; complying with all reporting requirements; and providing excellent stewardship of project resources. In addition, you will develop and maintain strong, collegial relationships with clients to provide responsive, high-quality technical assistance.Key project tasks may include:

Oversight of project budgets, subcontracts, consultants, contract requirements, quality control, and reporting

Serve as key point of contact with funders

Serve as point of contact with other technical assistance providers

Assist staff and clients with accessing resources

Oversight technical assistance teams providing services to clients, contributing technical and process expertise as needed

Review and improve technical assistance plans in collaboration with clients and internal teams

Ensure technical assistance plans are implemented to high standards of quality and responsiveness

Review technical assistance resources, such as information briefs, whitepapers, tools, rubrics, processes, etc., according to high standards of quality and in compliance with internal quality control processes

Assist internal teams to develop, deliver, monitor, and course correct ongoing technical assistance services

Oversee project evaluators’ efforts to curate evidence, collect information, and schedule data collection and reporting activities

Lead the development of required formal reports and contribute to internal documentation systems

Remain up to date about emerging state and federal education policy issues, technical assistance strategies, and new resources

Lead team and all-staff meetings to discuss progress of technical assistance initiatives, emerging needs and issues, and challenges to service provision

Qualifications:

Doctorate or Master’s degree

A minimum of 15 years of experience working in the field of education

A minimum of 5 years of experience as a project director or project manager

A minimum of 5 years at a state education agency and/or providing TA to a state education agency

A minimum of 10 years working in at least one content area of education expertise (such as accountability systems; assessment; college and career readiness; English learners; equity; literacy; school improvement; social-emotional learning; STEM education; teacher and leader recruitment, development, and retention; etc.)

Professional Skills:

Strong team player with the ability to take initiative and work well independently

Excellent verbal, oral, interpersonal, and written communication skills

Proficiency in MS Office and other standard office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, Teams)

Experience working in a consulting environment

Knowledge about how to help organizations plan and implement large, complex initiatives

Superior attention to detail and the ability to meet stringent deadlines

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities

The pay range for this position is:$113,863.00 - $193,568.00Pennsylvania Remote Office (PA99)
