Want to be a part of our team?This is a mid-level position that interfaces with multiple stakeholders in the company in order to understand requirements, business constraints, problem domain, viable technology, and development. This role determines multiple design alternatives, assesses such alternatives based on given or self-defined criteria, and selects the most suited option to refine to a final design. Regular, predictable attendance is essential for satisfactory performance.Working at NTTESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Analyzes the current infrastructure and continually look for improvements in availability and optimization.

Ensures IT architectures, practices, policies, and plans align with company's business goals.

Works with other engineers to provide a consensus-based solution that is scalable, adaptable and in synchronization with ever changing business needs.

Manages risks associated with information and IT assets by developing and documenting appropriate standards, practices, and security policies.

Accomplishing organizational goals by accepting ownership for new requests; explore opportunities to add value to Business.

Handling Technical & process escalations to ensure services are met within agreed SLA.

Escalation Engagement with L3 & L4 for escalated /complex troubleshooting and pending issue.

Promotes the practice to find area in our infrastructure to reduce costs and improve efficiencies.

Supports automation of network infrastructure operational activities to reduce toil (e.g., device certification, onboarding, provisioning, migrations, patching, refreshes, upgrades, decommissions, observability, triaging)

Selects new technologies while observing the various constraints such as cost, time frame and security.

Draws up development and integration plans.

Builds test environments, and pilots deployment.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Customer service orientation.

Stress management and ability to handle a fast paced, rapidly changing environment.

Process tickets which may include escalations, alarms, incidents and service requests reported by monitoring tools, ticketing portals, calls and emails.

Ability to manage a network ticketing queue and identify, report and remediate trends.

Problem solving, with the ability to mentor and work with other team members to resolve issues then focus on establishing long term solutions rather than quick fixes.

Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken.

Excellent documentation skills.

Ability to explain complex technical issues in a way that non-technical people may understand.

Knowledge of IT change processes.

Creating KB articles for well known issues.

Basic project and program management planning and organizational skills, as well as time management and prioritization capabilities.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and show discretion.

Vendor Engagement / Escalations over Emails, Vendor Portals and Phone as & when required for as part of the reported Network issue.

Understanding of Internet Protocols (DNS, SMTP, SNMP, SSH, Telnet).

Understanding with Multi-homed ISP (BGP,ISIS).

Understanding with Routing & Switching (OSPF, STP, HSRP).

Understanding with Firewalls and access lists.

Understanding of Load Balancing.

Understanding of Access Point and Virtual Controllers.

Research and keep abreast of current and new technologies and be aware of its implications to customers and Global Data Centers of America.

#GlobalDataCentersCareersEDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

5-7 years of experience in Information Technology, with 3-6 years in the subject area.

Current or demonstrated progress towards attainment of Juniper and/or Cisco CCNP or JNCIE (or equivalent).

High School Diploma or GED required

Bachelors Degree Preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Primarily sitting with some walking, standing, and bending.

Able to hear and speak into a telephone.

Close visual work on a computer terminal.

Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate any required computer keyboard, mouse, and other technical instruments.

Ability to lift and carry, up to 20 lbs

Able to climb a ladder and work on a raised platform.

WORK CONDITIONS & OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Remote work with extensive daily usage of a computer.

Must live within a state that has a GDCA Data Center.

Responsible to carry a cell phone and provide 24 x 7 escalated support as needed.

Must be willing to work outside normal business hours, including weekends, late nights, holidays and on-call support.

Must be comfortable working in a highly critical, fast paced environment with shifting priorities.

Occasional travel may be required.

Must possess a current, valid state-issued driver’s license.

Must be able to respond to emergency situations at the data center.

This is a remote position that requires reliable internet connection and electricity. A monthly stipend is provided to cover expenses associated with working remotely and use of a personal mobile device, if applicable.NTT Global Data Centers Americas, Inc. offers competitive compensation based on experience, education, and location.
