At Leonard's Express, Inc. we are looking for a dedicated Warehouse and Transfer Dock Lead who will improve our processes through proactive management of both people and quality control procedures. This is a full-time position. The ideal employee should display readiness to supervise employees, build the daily schedule and resolve any problems which may arise. In this capacity, the Warehouse and Transfer Dock Lead should be prepared to evaluate solutions relating to but not limited to employee supervision, timeliness of employees and products, safety, cost management, productivity, company image, and customer satisfaction. All job duties must be performed in a way that promotes safe practices in accordance with Leonard's established safety programs.We are offering:Salary from $75,000 to $80,000 per year based on experienceWeekly payFull-timeGreat benefits (medical, dental, vision, employee assistance program)401K with company matchCompany paid life insurancePaid time offThe ideal employee will:Maintain weekday/weekend availability, Monday to Friday plus either Saturday or Sunday based on port operationsHoliday availability if the holiday falls on a normal workday (additional compensation provided)Ability to strictly follow and enforce compliance with the transfer dock SOPBe forklift certified or be willing to be trained and certifiedPossession of a current and valid Class A CDL is a plusThe essential duties and responsibilities of the position include:Provides direction and supervision to warehouse staff across 1-2 shifts by delegating workload, managing their performance, and maintaining appropriate staff levels through recruitment, selection, and retention activitiesManages physical inventory movements and storage to optimize efficiency, minimize rework and ensure product storage integrityMaintains the facility at AIB and GFSI standardsEnsures that warehouse operations meet all OSHA and company safety standardsProvides coaching and training/development as needed for warehouse supervisors and warehouse staffDevelops procedures for continuous improvement to minimize bottlenecks and increase efficiencies in product movementActively participates in choosing vendors with the optimal balance of price and serviceOther ongoing responsibilities include:Creates employee schedules and coordinates the staffing of temporary employeesEnsures invoices are accurate and billed on timeArranges for disposal or donation of rejected product returned to warehouseMaintains customer interface as neededEnsures that customer concerns are immediately addressed Collaborates with QA/QC Specialist on all activities to successfully pass third party auditsEnsures that documentation on inbound and outbound loads are accurateManages all warehouse equipment and coordinates required maintenance/repair serviceThe professional skills and abilities an ideal candidate should possess include:Sound organizational, records management, time management skills, and attention to detailGood interpersonal and customer service skills, well-developed verbal and written communication skills, plus the ability to work both as an individual contributor and a team memberThe ability to effectively prioritize responsibilities and meet assigned deadlinesAbility to work independently on assigned tasks, as well as to accept direction on given assignmentsBased on the technical and professional responsibilities of the position, the Warehouse and Transfer Dock Lead is required to have:College degree preferred3-5 years related experience in lieu of degree Equipment Certificates: Forklift, pallet jackExperience with systems such as TMW and Microsoft ExcelExperience with SAP, 3PL and/or other WMS systemPossession of a Class A CDL is a plus, but not requiredThe Warehouse and Transfer Dock Lead is primarily located in a warehouse environment with moderate to high noise levels and may be exposed to varying weather and temperature conditions while traveling. Physical requirements include:Using computer hardware and software for extended periods of time (repetitive motion)Regularly lifting up to 25 pounds and up to 80 pounds with assistanceMust be available work into the evening, weekends & some holidaysTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
