Position: Journeyman/Mechanic Reports To: Foreman/Project Manager

Department: Field Operations FSLA Status: Non-Exempt

Summary:

Install electrical equipment and systems in accordance with all applicable plans, specifications, codes, and industry standards. Support activities at commercial, industrial, and residential locations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

Journeyman License in Delaware/Completion of 4 years Electrical Apprenticeship.

Must have 2 years’ experience.

Must have valid driver’s license and transportation.

Must be willing to travel to Tri-State projects.

Must be able to bend pipe.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Troubleshooting electrical components, wiring diagrams, transformers, motors, panels, and circuits.

Installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems such as: switch gears, motor controls, electrical panels, CT cabinets, conveyor systems, lighting, and power supplies.

Testing electrical systems or continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, using testing devices, such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, or oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system.

Inspecting systems, equipment, or components to identify hazards, defects, or the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.

Directing or training workers to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures.

Diagnosing malfunctioning systems, apparatus, or components, using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.

Work and maintain a safe workplace while complying and adhering to safety polices and OSHA mandated requirements.

Prepare toolbox talks.

Complete jobs in a professional manner.

Cooperate with Foreman to support the success of the project.

Instruct and teach apprentices.

Maintain company owned property on a regular basis.

Utilize the National Electrical Code.

Support the merit shop philosophy.
