This job consists of conducting financial modeling on various financial products as well as measuring, analyzing, and forecasting performance in conjunction with operating plans, advising management on the allocation of resources to best accomplish objectives, and preparing reports for management. This Financial Analyst role is located in the Northwest, Connecticut, and it is a permanent employment opportunity. Explain and understand internal and external drivers impacting performance and trending
Work with senior executives on strategic deep dives by developing financial models and insights on topics such as: Retention forecasts, Campaign Planning & Tracking, return on investment of strategic investments, strategic resource allocation and prioritization, and event tracking and execution
Drive monthly reporting to business partners on financial results and if any actions are required
Look over performance to date while assessing potential opportunities and risks
Present and monitor forecasting reports
Work closely with cross functional partners in Accounting and Operations to execute against plans
The ideal candidate should be a highly flexible individual who is adept at managing expectations and comfortable with handling large amounts of information
Deliver valuable foresight and decision support by enabling effective Business Intelligence (BI)
Drive Area/Segment-level Bookings on a weekly, quarterly and annual basis, as well as P& L forecasting
Work with Accounting on the monthly and quarterly financial close process
Track monthly and quarterly performance through comparison of actuals versus expectations and enable business partners to handle their resources

Analysis experience
Well-founded grasp of Annual Operating Budget
Aerospace Defense experience
Knowledge of cost accounting
General familiarity with Microsoft Excel
Comprehensive knowledge of standard costs
Manufacturing experience preferred
Experience with financial data management processes & systems, e.g. Oracle/Hyperion/SAP Business Objects/SFDC/Tableau- Experience in problem solving through statistical analysis or with large data sets highly preferable (such as in derivatives, structured finance, or business analytics or in a similarly demanding and analytical role)
Prior knowledge in Spreadsheet and ERP system
Financial planning & analysis (go-to-market experience suggested)
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
Critical thinking, problem solving, ability to work independently
BA/BS degree in finance or a related field
5+ years of experience in problem solving through statistical analysis or with large data sets highly preferable (such as in derivatives, structured finance, or business analytics or in a similarly demanding and analytical role)
Skilled in the construction and delivery of effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds
