Employment Type:Full timeShift:Day ShiftDescription:Come join our team at in the OR at Saint Mary's Hospital as a Surgical Scheduling Coordinator!Position PurposeThe Scheduling Coordinator provides general clerical support to the care unit and is responsible, as a member of the patient care team, for OR schedule management, data collection, forms management, unit communication and assistance with resource allocation.What you will do
Coordinating room assignments for scheduled and add on cases, evaluating operating room status and verifies census to promote a smooth flow for admissions/transfers/discharges in the department
Scheduling OR rooms, printing and appropriately distributing OR schedules and changes to include Floor Schedules and Previous day schedules for Medical Records
Notifying all appropriate care providers regarding room schedules and changes
Processing booking slips/requests to appropriate scheduling book and facilitates scheduling of procedures
Retrospectively verifies closure of cases for previous day and work with OR charge nurse to facilitate daily schedule
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum High School diploma or equivalent, college degree or medical-related certification preferred
Experience in a healthcare setting, preferably with surgery/surgical-related exposure
Medical Terminology, Medical Billing (CPT Coding), and appointment scheduling experience strongly preferred
EPIC and/or other EMR/EHR experience preferred
