Employment Type:Full timeShift:Day ShiftDescription:Come join our Patient Access team in Financial Counseling at Saint Mary's Hospital, a member of Trinity Health Of New England!Position PurposeThis position is responsible for reviewing financial/insurance information obtained to meet State, Federal and Third-Party billing requirements and to ensure reimbursement for services. Must satisfy admission notice requirements with pre-certification and HMO companies to avoid payment penalties.What you will do

Reviews and processes Self Pay patients for government assistance, arranges for financial agreements for hospital and Anesthesia and solicits payment for non-covered services

Must edit, update and file all new information gathered for each admission. In addition, assists patients with billing related inquiries

Individual must be able to understand and relate to theories behind several related concepts and remember multiple tasks given to self over long periods to time, able to communicate in written word, using advanced written skills

Minimum Qualifications

High School Graduate, some college experienced preferred

2-3 years Patient Accounting, Financial Counseling. Knowledge of billing regulations helpful

Knowledge of Medical Terminology preferred
