Description Junior Staff Accountant - Stratford, CTReference ID: BR0012996432Contact: Brittany Rizzo / [email protected] Summary:The Staff Accountant will be responsible for performing a variety of accounting duties including maintaining financial records, assisting with audits, reconciliations, and processing accounts payable. This position requires a strong attention to detail, proficiency in accounting software, and the ability to work collaboratively with other members of the finance team.Key Responsibilities:
Maintain and update the general ledger by recording all financial transactions.
Prepare journal entries, including accruals and prepayments, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
Perform bank reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies.
Reconcile balance sheet accounts and ensure accurate financial data.
Process accounts payable invoices and ensure timely payments.
Assist in the preparation for audits, including gathering necessary documentation and working with auditors.
Requirements
Minimum of 1 year of experience in a Staff Accountant role or similar position Proficiency in executing Accounts Payable (AP) tasks Solid understanding and experience in performing Bank Reconciliations Familiarity with creating Journal Entries Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or relevant field is preferred Strong analytical skills and attention to detail Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity.Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
