These job requirements allow the employee to work at a Lockheed Martin-designated office or job site for part of their schedule and has a predefined regular, recurring telework schedule.Lockheed Martin’s Sikorsky business is seeking an Associate General Counsel to support various commercial and government contracts programs, as well as supply chain activity at Sikorsky. Sikorsky is a Line of Business within Lockheed Martin’s Rotary and Mission Systems (RMS) business area that focuses on rotorcraft design, production and support. This position will report to the Sikorsky General Counsel and is located in Stratford, CT at the Sikorsky headquarters. In addition to supporting existing programs, the position supports business development efforts related to new/expanded work with the U.S, Military, Foreign Military Sales (FMS) pursuits, and international customer pursuitsThis position requires a person with proven business-oriented outlook and superior analytical, verbal and written skills and a strong background in transactions and corporate governance (formation of joint ventures, subsidiaries, branches and program offices), contracts, supply chain and sourcing and U.S. and international regulatory & legal regimes (including anti-corruption and export control laws). This individual will have responsibility for negotiation, drafting, and hands-on development of traditional and innovative venture and contractual arrangements. This attorney must be a self-starter and able to work effectively semi-autonomously as well in a team setting. Experience with international transactions, U.S. Government Contracts, and aerospace or defense industry is highly desired.Major responsibilities include:The major responsibilities are to advise Sikorsky leadership, program managers, contracts personnel, global sustainment, and other personnel on government contracts, domestic and international commercial transactions, including, direct commercial sales to foreign governments, joint ventures, teaming agreements and alliances. Activities may also include supporting international sales and potential financing of new aircraft, modifications and upgrades, and services offerings of SAC, as well as industrial cooperation and co-production activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of providing support in these areas. This position requires a person with proven business-oriented outlook and superior analytical, verbal and written skills and a strong background in transactions and corporate governance (formation of joint ventures, subsidiaries, branches and program offices), contracts, and U.S. and international regulatory & legal regimes (including anti-corruption and export control laws).This individual will have responsibility for negotiation, drafting, and hands-on development of traditional and innovative venture and contractual arrangements. Prepares contract language, advises on contract and subcontract terms and conditions, and analyzes and mitigates legal risk on contracts and other agreements. Supports development and management of contracts claims, disputes and litigation. This attorney must be a self-starter and able to work effectively semi-autonomously as well in a team setting. S/he will work closely with corporate and local management as well as with functional areas with Sikorsky and other attorneys within LM to develop the appropriate agreements, documentation, transaction structure and strategy to ensure program success. May assist with pursuit, negotiation, settlement, performance and eventual close out of major U.S. Government prime contracts. Experience with international agreements, U.S. Government contracts, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, teaming agreements, supplier negotiations, and aerospace or defense industry is highly desired. Experience with NATO country and EU transactions is a plus.Basic Qualifications:JD degree from an accredited law schoolAdmitted in good standing to a state bar as a practicing attorney.Minimum 7 years of experience as an attorney in a law firm, in-house counsel or government agency.Experience counseling and providing advice to clients.MUST HAVE A SECRET SECURITY CLEARANCEDesired Skills:10+ years of experience in a law firm, government agency, or major defense contractor legal department engaged in contracting/procurement. FAR/DFARS knowledge and experience in complex negotiations with the U.S. Government is a plus.
