Description One of Norwalk's top tier service companies is seeking a Staff Accountant to join their growing Finance Department. This role will assist the Controller with all activities related to expense reporting, financial statement preparation, and internal controls. Key responsibilities: Responsible for overseeing cost accounting process and enforcing controls related to the corporate card program. Ensure efficiency with all accounting related activities in NetSuite. Assist in the preparation and reconciliation of payroll data and associated journal entries. Reconciliation of the Company’s corporate purchasing & credit card expense accounts. Provide reconciliation support of weekly supplier and commission payments. Administers Fixed Asset records including depreciation schedules & monthly transactions. Performs annual physical inventory of fixed assets. Provides projections of depreciation expense for budget analysis. Prepare the monthly amortization schedules for all prepaid expenses. Reconcile and allocate inventory items across tour departures as part of the monthly financial closing process. Support the month-end close process, including but not limited to account reconciliations, analysis of financial statements, and reporting on variances. Assist with Compliance reporting. Prior experience in a Staff Accountant role
Established communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills, especially with both technical and financial backgrounds
Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases
Microsoft Excel experience required. Netsuite experience is highly preferred but not required.
BS/BA degree in Accounting, Business or similar preferred
Highly organized and self-motivated
