We are in need of farm workers on a part-time to full-time basis starting immediately, working year-round! We will begin interviewing immediately.
If you are interested and have any gardening or farm animal experience, please reply with a note on your experience as well as what your availability would be for the coming months. We are flexible with the hours worked and each week could be a little different.
About the job!:
Shadow Birch Farm is a brand new farm. Farm animals, garden with expansion goals over the next couple of years.
This role will potentially grow into farm manager overseeing a team.
This job may include the following tasks:
1. Greenhouse work including plant care, seeding, clean up.
2. Crop preparation, machine work, soil work, transplanting, direct seeing - this is where most of the hands-on manual labor work will be!
3. Preparing beds, planting, watering, and harvesting, as well as amending the soil, weeding, thinning, and natural pest and disease prevention and control.
4. Expect tomato pruning and trellising, early morning cucumber picking, and fast-paced hot summer harvest days.
5. Cleaning up chicken coop areas.
6. Feeding animals.
7. Cleaning animal pastures.
8. Helping and installing farm fencing material.
9. Barn clean up.
10. And similar!
The job requires a lot of walking, kneeling, bending, twisting, carrying, and a lot of lifting heavy objects on a daily basis. We work sometimes in light rain, and for other times, work would be indoors in the barn or greenhouse during rain.
This position asks you to have gardening or farm animal experience, but not required.
$16-$20/hour and flexible hours - can be 10 hours a week, or 20+.

4. Espere podar y colocar en espaldera los tomates, recoger pepinos temprano en la mañana y días calurosos y acelerados de cosecha de verano.
5. Limpiar las áreas del gallinero.
6. Alimentar a los animales.
7. Limpieza de pastos para animales.
8. Ayuda e instalación de material de vallado agrícola.
9. Limpieza del granero.
10. Y similares!
El trabajo requiere caminar mucho, arrodillarse, agacharse, girar, cargar y levantar mucho objetos pesados a diario. A veces trabajamos bajo una lluvia ligera y, en otras ocasiones, el trabajo se realiza en el interior del granero o en el invernadero durante la lluvia.
$16-$20/hora y horario flexible: pueden ser 10 horas a la semana o 20+.
