Guest House Retreat and Conference Center is in search of a Full Time Prep Cook to complete our Dining Services team. If a positive, supportive atmosphere, working with experienced chefs, where you prepare and serve meals for up to 100 guests per day appeals to you, then you've found the right place. Job descrition and requirements:

The Prep Cook reports to the Dining Services Manager, and will support the dining services team in their absence. The work schedule varies according to the events schedule. Work in other departments during slow periods as assigned, cross-training will be provided accordingly.

Responsibilities include:

Maintain ServSafe certification, Promote and exemplify workplace and food safety

Prep food as instructed by Executive Chef & Sous Chef (salads, dressings, desserts, entree ingredients, etc)

Interact with guests and staff with a positive attitude and in a friendly, professional, and caring manner. Warmly

greeting guests when they enter the dining areas

Washing, drying and re-stocking dishes, pots and pans, utensils, etc.

Restocking dining room amenities

Constant cleaning of all dining areas, work areas and equipment utilizing daily cleaning checklist

Perform other tasks, possibly outside of their essential job description, as requested (Painting, minor repairs and

maintenance, general housekeeping)

Prepare and present creative and thoughtful meals adhering to the highest standards of Guest House

Ensure meals are out on time, every time

Skills and requirements:

ServSafe certification

Minimum of 2 years’ culinary education or experience, including knife skills

High School diploma or additional 1 year culinary experience

Hospitality experience desired

Excellent customer service skills

Strong communication skills

Punctual and reliable

Dependable transportation

Trustworthy

Ability to use e-mail

Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

Neat appearance, with appropriate clean uniform and GH name badge to be worn at all times

Available to work a flexible schedule of any/all daytime, evening & weekend shifts
