Part-time Front Desk Officer

Part-Time Front Desk Officer needed immediately to pick up weekend shifts and possibly some weekday shifts. Must be flexible enough to work 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift and definitely be available both Saturday and Sunday. Clean background and drug screen required. $15.69 per hour to start. The list of essential functions, as outlined below, is intended to be representative of the tasks performed within the Front Desk Officer position. The omission of an essential function does not preclude management from assigning duties not listed herein if such functions is a logical assignment for the Front Desk Officer.

Patrol the interior and exterior grounds of the facility.

Monitor all security systems and equipment.

Perform all duties associated with the Front Desk – including activity sign-up, cash handling, mail delivery, printing/copying, answering phones.

Report any suspicious activity (internally and externally) to appropriate law enforcement authorities the Front Desk Supervisor, and the Director of Operations.

Maintain accurate security and resident services logs.

Assist in all medical and non-medical emergencies. In the case of a medical emergency affecting a resident, immediately contact 911. Contact the individuals listed on the emergency list, as well as the on-call staff person. Remain with the resident until the attending personnel have responded to and have the situation under control.

Respond to resident’s needs at all times, i.e. assist those who have locked themselves out of their apartment or are having personal problems; check on residents who return from the hospital.

Control and monitor entryway traffic into the facility. Confirm check-in and check-out procedures are followed by visitors and vendors.

Conduct floor checks, and ensure all resident doors are locked.

Responsible for assuring that all residents are accounted for during dinnertime.

Monitor elevator during dinner hour. Control resident flow off / on the elevator during these hours.

Monitor The Towers at Tower Lane’s activities and programs. Encourage residents to participate.

Redirect behavior, as required, to maintain the safety and order of residents.

Promote an atmosphere of caring, warmth and friendliness throughout the Towers at Tower Lane.

Provide excellent in-person and telephone customer service and refer inquiries/issues to appropriate resources.

Perform other assignments/special projects from time to time as authorized by the President/CEO or Director of Operations.

May be required to share twenty-four hour on-call.

Spend time interacting with residents.

Distribute notices to residents.

Keep assigned office or work area professional, neat, organized and clean.

MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma or GED. 1 to 2 years’ experience working with elderly individuals. Ability to read and understand security and fire emergency procedures. Ability to understand the intricate monitor and fire alert systems. Good organizational skills and high degree of attention to detail, as well as follow through of tasks. Good interpersonal, time management, and judgment skills. Must work well under pressure and be able to prioritize tasks while taking direction and requests from multiple people in a fast-paced environment. Good verbal, written, and inter-personal communication skills. Working knowledge of all Microsoft Office products. Self-motivated, hands-on individual with the ability to troubleshoot and problem solve independently while also working within a team atmosphere. Willingness to be flexible with one’s work schedule in order to accommodate community, residents, staff and business needs.
