The Production Planner position is a broad role with plenty of growth potential. General responsibilities include executing and maintaining shop operations, overseeing shipments and deliveries, facility management and inventory at a bustling manufacturing plant. Not specified in the below tasks, but critical to the role is the requirement to communicate clearly and frequently with management, either in person, on the phone or via email. The Production Planner will serve and report directly to the General Manager.
Specific responsibilities include but will not be limited to:
Production
- Daily recordkeeping of production
Shipments and Deliveries
- Sign off and manage paperwork for deliveries, inbound and outbound.
- Ensure the correct product is loaded onto trucks and drivers have the correct paperwork.
- Sign off and account for incoming material.
Purchasing:
- Monitor and maintain shop inventory including consumables and other items needed for production
- Coordinating and monitoring shipping schedules
- Support purchasing needs including occasionally negotiating and placing orders with vendors and picking up items as needed
Inventory
- Monitoring inventory levels of shop supplies, consumables, and raw materials
- Aggregate inventory count and relay to management
- Accept delivery for, store and keep track of inventory for Argon/CO2, Propane, supplies for cutting and grinding, tools, safety supplies, PPE, paint, office supplies
Facility and Equipment oversite
- Support and record equipment maintenance and repair logging and tracking.
- Monitoring and maintaining maintenance schedules
Requirements:
- 2 years in manufacturing environment
- Some knowledge of fabrication processes (welding, cutting, forming, etc) and equipment
- Some knowledge of Microsoft office applications, excel, word, and outlook
