Duties:
- Prepare and cook food items according to recipes and quality standards
- Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies
- Ensure that food is prepared in a timely manner and meets quality standards
- Follow proper food handling and safety procedures
- Clean and maintain work areas, equipment, and utensils
- Assist with inventory management and ordering supplies as needed
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth operations
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working in a culinary or kitchen environment is preferred
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
- Ability to handle knives and other kitchen tools safely and efficiently
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes accurately
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well within a team
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
Skills:
- Culinary skills: Proficient in various cooking techniques and familiar with different types of cuisines
- Kitchen knowledge: Understanding of kitchen operations, equipment, and procedures
- Dietary department experience: Familiarity with dietary restrictions and special dietary needs
- Food safety: Knowledge of proper food handling, storage, and sanitation practices
- Food industry awareness: Understanding of current trends, ingredients, and techniques in the food industry
- Knife skills: Ability to handle knives safely and effectively for food preparation
- Food service experience: Previous experience working in a restaurant or similar food service setting
- Cookery skills: Ability to prepare a variety of dishes from scratch using fresh ingredients
- Restaurant experience: Familiarity with restaurant operations, including menu planning, plating, and presentation
