Medical Billing Specialist

Description We are seeking a Medical Billing Specialist in New Haven, Connecticut. This fully remote role involves handling key aspects of medical billing, including processing appeals, billing functions, and posting EOBs. You will be working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, focusing on ensuring accurate and efficient billing processes. This opportunity offers a short-term contract employment. Responsibilities: Accurately process and manage medical billing and insurance claims Handle appeals associated with medical billing Conduct regular checks on payer websites for EOBs Efficiently post EOBs on relevant platforms Utilize EHR System for managing and organizing data Apply CPT codes correctly in the billing process Liaise with insurance companies for claim resolutions Ensure adherence to all regulations and guidelines in medical billing Utilize Advanced MD in managing medical billing processes Address customer inquiries related to billing and insurance claims.Requirements Proficiency in medical billing functions and a comprehensive understanding of EOB Experience with EHR SYSTEM and familiarity with CPT Codes Ability to handle appeals and effectively communicate with insurance companies Knowledge of payer systems and insurance claims Demonstrable experience in medical billing and insurance processes Ability to work independently and in a team environment Strong attention to detail and accuracy Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines High school diploma or equivalent required, higher education or certifications in related fields preferred.
