Job Title: CNC Set Up/OperatorJob DescriptionWe are seeking a skilled CNC Set Up/Operator to proficiently operate all CNC machines. The ideal candidate will read and interpret blueprints, understand the basics of design, and offer design improvements where necessary. You will set up and use precision measuring tools, check your own work for conformance to specifications, and communicate with others on work order status and completion of work. This role involves handling short run orders of 5-20 pieces and performing multiple setups throughout the day. It is essential that you can operate independently, set up, or make necessary changes.Responsibilities

Set up and proficiently operate all CNC machines.

Read and interpret blueprints, and understand basics of design.

Offer design improvements where necessary.

Set up and use precision measuring tools.

Check own work for conformance to specifications.

Communicate work order status and completion.

Handle short run orders (5-20 piece orders).

Perform multiple setups throughout the day.

Operate Fanuc controlled machines and lathes.

Maintain tight tolerances.

Perform in-process inspections.

Essential Skills

Experience with CNC, Machinist, Lathe, and CNC Set Up.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

Ability to make offsets and adjustments.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

High school diploma.

Minimum 3 years of experience using CNC machines.

Ability to read, evaluate, and work from engineering drawings.

Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills.

Ability to lift 50 pounds.

Understanding and application of shop math.

Basic mechanical aptitude in troubleshooting CNC machines.

Proficiency in operating CNC lathe.

Detail-oriented and excellent organizational skills.

Ability to use a computer.

Experience with setting up and operating toolroom machines.

This role requires the ability to prioritize workload, work well under pressure, and discuss technical problems with managers and engineering. The position involves standing and walking frequently, using hands to operate machines, measuring devices, and computers, and requires specific vision abilities including close vision. Regular attendance and the ability to work cooperatively and professionally with others are essential.
