SUMMARY OF THE JOB : Reporting to the Loan Originations Manager, the incumbent is responsible for the recruitment and retention of a small team (4-6) of Mortgage Loan Originators as well as the solicitation and origination of residential mortgages. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The incumbent is responsible for the recruiting, supervising, and retaining a small team (4-6) of Mortgage Loan Originators as well as soliciting and originating residential conventional and government mortgages. Promotes conventional and government programs and Bank services to realtors, builders, affinity accounts and other referral sources as well as prospective customers. Ensures exceptional customer service by maintaining thorough knowledge of lending programs, policies, procedures and regulatory requirements, demonstrating a commitment to professional ethics, complying with all Federal and State compliance policies and adhering to HMDA requirements. Writes an annual sales plan identifying key conversion and prospecting accounts. Makes regularly scheduled sales calls on targeted accounts and develops and maintains business relationships and referral sources. Interfaces with community banking offices and loan support staff and informs appropriate personnel of product/policy changes and updates. Works with Liberty Bank outreach officers to provide mortgage products in low/moderate census tract areas or for low/moderate income individuals. Counsels’ prospective customers regarding appropriate mortgage programs. Prequalifies based on income, debt, employment history, and other credit data. Originates loan applications and monitors the loan from application through closing, maintaining effective communications with customers, referral sources, and loan support staff. Utilizes automated underwriting, where applicable, to issue point of sale prequalification letters. Keeps abreast of competitor activity and industry trends and developments. principal accountabilities

Exercises effective sales techniques and implements successful sales and marketing strategies.

Recruits and supervises a small team of MLOs.

Attains established loan production goals and objectives for his/herself and their team.

Assists in determining loan product options for customers based upon thorough analysis of borrower’s credit profile.

Use of automated underwriting system to issue point of sale prequalification letters, where applicable.

Make sales calls on targeted accounts with specified frequency based on the written annual sales plan.

Represent and promote the Bank’s image and increase marketing efforts through attendance at trade events.

If applicable, incumbents who have responsibility for taking residential mortgage loan applications or offers or negotiates terms of a residential mortgage loan for compensation or gain, must register with the NMLS as a Mortgage Loan Officer (MLO).

To be registered, the MLO must pass a background check. Failure to comply with registration and annual registration or not pass a criminal background check administered by NMLS may result in termination.

Adheres to applicable federal and state regulations pertaining to incumbent’s business line.

Complete required training (online and in person) by set dates.

Annual Sales Goals: $9-$12MM No. Est. Referral Sources: 15-25 accounts, which are determined by the annual sales plan. $750,000/monthly loan closing average.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

5+ years’ experience in mortgage operations working with conventional and government loan programs, secondary market investors, state housing agencies, and private mortgage insurers.

Minimum 3+ years’ mortgage lending management experience leading processing, underwriting, or closing functions with proven project management and leadership qualities.

Mortgage Underwriting management experience required (mortgage credit underwriting background required).

Ability to address operations concerns and issues, monitoring overall client satisfaction, addressing training needs/requirements, and developing and implementing operational procedures and policies.

Attention to detail with exceptional analytical, decision making, time management, and problem-solving skills in `high pressure situations.

Ability to effectively lead change within an organization.

Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with operations and sales staff and clients.

Proficient computer skills including email, mortgage loan origination systems, document systems, and automated underwriting systems.

Ability to drive desired teammate actions through motivational leadership.

Participate in all required compliance training, including Bank Secrecy Act/anti-money laundering training, as well as internal and external training programs, online training, meetings, and seminars/conferences, etc.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Expert level skills in MCIF systems

Effective written, analytical and presentation skills
