For 25 years, Richard Wrightman Design has crafted a distinctive collection of custom furniture including chairs, tables, beds, and case goods. Working primarily with wood while incorporating metal, fabric, and leather, each piece is built to order with precision, traditional craft diligence, and impeccable attention to detail.

The Role

We're seeking an experienced senior-level furniture maker or cabinet maker to join our team in building and managing complex projects. This role involves hands-on craftsmanship as well as technical responsibilities including CAD drawings and engineering support.

What We're Looking For

Essential Skills & Experience:

Proven experience in furniture making or cabinet making

Proficiency with CAD software and technical drawings

Experience managing complex woodworking projects

Strong understanding of joinery, finishing, and quality standards

Personal Qualities:

Excellent organizational skills with ability to follow detailed instructions and procedures

Resourceful problem-solver with clear thinking and strong sense of responsibility

Self-motivated with drive to work efficiently and maintain high-quality standards

Collaborative team player who works harmoniously with others

Work Environment

Our workshop offers an ideal craftsperson's environment: well-lit, spacious, and meticulously clean. We maintain an active worker safety program ensuring everyone follows best practices and safe procedures. Located in a quiet business park adjacent to a scenic 10-acre field along the Farmington River.

Compensation & Benefits

Starting Pay: $30+ per hour (negotiable based on experience)

Schedule: Full-time, 8-hour shifts with flexible scheduling

Time Off: 40 hours vacation + 40 hours sick/personal leave annually
