Must have basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, heating & cooling, painting, light cabinetry. Required to be on rotating 24 hr on call service.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable General Maintenance Technician to join our team and manage the upkeep of a multifamily residential and single-family house portfolio. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the aesthetic and functional integrity of the properties, including lawn care, basic repairs, and other property maintenance tasks. This is a hands-on role that requires a strong work ethic and the ability to handle various tasks in a timely and efficient manner.
Key Responsibilities:
Lawn Care & Landscaping:
o Mow lawns, trim bushes, and perform general landscaping tasks to maintain clean, attractive outdoor spaces.
o Water plants, fertilize lawns, and ensure proper seasonal care (e.g., leaf removal, snow removal as needed).
General Property Maintenance:
o Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs for both multifamily and single-family residential properties (e.g., plumbing fixes, light carpentry, appliance repairs, etc.).
o Inspect properties for safety and maintenance issues and report problems as necessary.
o Manage and handle trash removal, including cleaning common areas and dumpsters.
Facilities Management:
o Assist with cleaning and upkeep of common areas in multifamily residential units, including hallways, lobbies, and shared amenities.
o Respond to work orders and tenant requests in a timely and professional manner.
o Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance tasks to ensure the longevity of property assets.
Equipment & Tools Maintenance:
o Maintain and repair lawn care equipment and tools (e.g., mowers, trimmers, snow blowers).
o Ensure all tools and equipment are stored safely and in working condition.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in property maintenance, lawn care, or a related field.
Basic knowledge of repair techniques for plumbing, electrical, and carpentry tasks.
Strong understanding of lawn care and landscaping practices.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting heavy objects, bending, and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to travel between properties.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize efficiently.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with snow removal and winter property maintenance.
Knowledge of HVAC systems or other specialized property maintenance areas.
Previous experience working in multifamily residential settings.
Compensation:
Competitive hourly wage, commensurate with experience.
