If you have a passion for rallying together to solve complex challenges, then come join our dynamic FSO team!The opportunityEY currently has an exciting career opportunity for a Claims Consultant to help strengthen and grow our Claims Business Consulting Services practice, which is a part of EY’s Global Insurance practice. This practice area covers a range of claims consulting services for insurers, third party administrators (TPA’s), key industry vendors as well as loss sensitive self-insured organizations. Primary services include:

Digital claims transformation

Operational and process improvement

Leakage analysis and technical claims quality assessments

Emerging technology and predictive analytics implementation

Vendor and expense management

Process and controls assessments

Your key responsibilitiesAs a member of the EY Claims Consulting team, you’ll be challenged to participate on engagement teams, focusing on complex and specialized claims management issues across several of the following areas:

Development and implementation of digital claim strategies, and associated business cases and roadmap development to improve claim program performance

Analysis of historical claims data to identify critical trends impacting claims program performance

Claims operational assessments, including target operating model design, claims process optimization, staffing models, segmentation strategies, internal process and controls and vendor strategy

Technical claims audits to assess process compliance, adherence to industry quality standards, quantify claim leakage and determine reserve adequacy

Assist with implementation of claims technology strategies

Maintain ongoing knowledge of evolving insurance claims industry trends and challenges

Help clients develop strategies to address emerging industry challenges and opportunities, including litigation management and Generative AI

To qualify for the role, you must have

Bachelor's degree

Claim management or related experience gained from employment at a broker, insurer or TPA

5+ years across any of the following lines of insurance: Auto, Property, General Liability, Workers’ Compensation, and/or Disability

3+ years of claims adjusting, claims process excellence/strategy and/or supervisory/management experience

Excellent business, communication and presentation skills

The ability to translate complex information into non-technical, easy to understand language

Strong writing, presentation, conceptual, analytical, and interpersonal skills

Comfortable with speaking to larger audiences and executive level professionals

Demonstrated proficiency with PowerPoint and Excel

Willingness to travel up to 50% to meet client needs, as needed

Ideally, you’ll also have

3 years of project management experience

Completion or significant progress towards the completion of an advanced, recognized insurance industry designation (e.g., AIC, ARe, ARM, CPCU), or an advanced degree (e.g., MBA, JD)

Consulting experience pertaining to claims transformation

The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $109,400 to $200,700. The salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $131,300 to $228,100. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options. Join us in our team-led and leader-enabled hybrid model. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year. Under our flexible vacation policy, you’ll decide how much vacation time you need based on your own personal circumstances.
