The Bond Home Office Operations Project Manager will serve as a critical partner to the Bond Operations leadership team to drive business outcomes by leading operational projects that deliver improved productivity and enhance the customer experience. This individual will support Bond Operations leadership with reporting, data analysis, ongoing end-to-end process metric monitoring, and providing thoughtful analysis, problem solving, and execution of initiatives.Key accountabilities include:

Oversight of all Bond Home Office tasks, including court and state filings

Acts as liaison for Bond for all agency mergers, acquisitions, buy-outs, agency contractual demographic changes handled through Licensing PEGA work orders.

Creates qualifying criteria for classing work with continuous prioritization and management of the Bond Home Office project pipeline.

Assumes responsibility for managing projects or operational issues related to increasing efficiencies, improving profitability or research prospective process solutions.

Defines and gains stakeholder input and agreement on project scope, resources, timeline, and analysis approach.

Works independently to develop and analyze business metrics. Prepares monthly Operations reports, analyzes performance variation, and provides recommendations for continuous improvement opportunities to Operations leaders.

Provides counsel on, and thoroughly understands, plans, and anticipates opportunities to improve efficiency and profitability of the department.

Through relationships with supported departments and/or business functions, translate deep knowledge of business needs to identifying key pain points or opportunities for improvement related to improving efficiency and profitability.

Partners with the Strategy & Optimization team to manage various strategic initiatives in support of Bond Operations through collaboration, prioritization, and aligning work streams.

Understanding and accounting for operational and other project dependencies in plans

Assess, quantify, analyze, and prioritize current state opportunities – obtain Input and Agreement from subject matter experts and stakeholders.

Analyze, define requirements, and recommend future state processes to address business problem and deliver improved outcomes.

Develop business cases for change, including cost-benefit analysis and implementation plans.

Assess project and process-level risks and develop mitigation and contingency plans.

Partner with IT / agile teams to ensure accuracy and completeness of maintenance features, user stories, testing strategy, plan, and scenarios.

Follow agile methodology of execution that guides distinct phases of project lifecycle from review and analysis (including test & learns) to pilots and full implementation.

Using change management principles to assess impact to internal & external customers and develop training & communication plan.

Document and provide regular project status updates, as agreed upon by sponsors and stakeholders within the project plans.

Develop and monitor success metrics as part of test & learns and full implementation.

Ensure proper controls in place as part of project closure and ongoing monitoring, including identifying long-term process owners for successful handoff for ongoing execution.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree strongly preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

3 + years of Surety Bond experience in operations and underwriting support

3 + years of project management experience

Advanced knowledge of process analysis and improvement to reduce waste and decrease defects; Six Sigma certification is preferred.

Effective communication, time management, and organizational skills required.

CompensationThe listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition.
