Short description:Responsible for all aspects of Accounts Payable as well as various other accounting tasks and some human resource support.Job Description:This position performs various accounting related tasks including invoice reconciliation, invoice processing in our ERP system, check runs and electronic payments, vendor relations and vendor maintenance, collections, billing, general ledger accounting tasks as well as some basic HR tasks.Essential Functions:Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions:Manage all aspects of Accounts Payable including entering invoices into ERP system (Infor)Review all Invoices for accuracy and receive approval from appropriate staffMake payments to vendors (including checks and payments online and over phone)Maintain sales tax payable documents and make appropriate tax filings & paymentsManage Canadian taxes payable documents and make appropriate tax filings & paymentsReview open payables monthly to ensure all vendors are paid timelyBasic general ledger accounting tasks and reconciliationsWork with auditor to complete year end auditCollection calls for overdue accounts receivable invoicesBilling as neededHR duties as neededOther accounting and department tasks as neededJob Requirements:Competency with ERP systems (Infor preferred) or other accounting softwareHighly experienced with Excel, Word and OutlookBasic data entry skillsComfortable with math and calculationsGood listening and communication skillsAttention to detail is a mustMust be able to effectively greet, work with and speak to vendors, customers and coworkersSupervisory Responsibility:This position has no supervisory responsibilities.Travel:There is typically no travel required for this position.Work Environment:This job operates mainly in the office area. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such computers, copiers and scanners. Employee will also be trained to be proficient with various software packages the company utilizes.Physical Demands:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Able to lift, carry and move a minimum of 25 lbs Must be able to physically use various pieces of office equipmentMust be able to sit for long periods of timeMust be able to look at computer screens for long periods of timePosition Type/Expected Hours of Work:This is a full-time non-exempt positionThis position is on site, office located in Bloomfield, CTDays of work are Monday through Friday, 8 hours of work per day plus an unpaid lunch break of at least 30 minutes40 hours of work per week, with additional hours as required to keep up with the workload at certain times of the month or year While there is some flexibility to the hours, start time is generally between 7:30 and 8:30 AM.
