Regional NDT Level IIIAs a Regional NDT Responsible Level III, you will use non-destructive testing methods to support site Responsible Level IIIs. You will need to be certified in Digital (DDA versus CR), Film Radiography, and PT of Super Alloys per NAS 410 requirements. Additional responsibilities include traveling, conducting audits of sites, and stepping in as the site Responsible Level III as needed.Key Responsibilities:
NDT Expertise : Meet all Level I, Level II& Level III requirements as per NAS 410 for Digital and Film Radiography.
Interpretation and Selection : Interpret codes, standards, and other contractual documents. Select appropriate methods and techniques for specific inspections per customer specifications.
Procedure Preparation and Verification : Prepare and verify the adequacy of procedures and techniques used in NDT methods. Verify techniques for accuracy by witnessing and/or reviewing the process.
Approval and Supervision : Approve NDT procedures and related work instructions. Supervise and/or perform training in certified inspection methods.
Examinations and Certification : Produce, administer, and grade examinations for all levels of personnel. Conduct NDT for part acceptance only when proficiency was demonstrated during certification testing.
Audits and Compliance : Audit site programs and ensure compliance with established housekeeping and safety practices.
Equipment Proficiency : Proficiently operate FPI processing lines, UV and white light meters, inspection lights, inspection gages, densitometer, survey meter, x-ray machine, and light meters.
Decision Making : Make acceptance or rejection decisions based on customer specifications, visual inspections, and gauges.
Visual Acuity : Pass visual acuity testing requirements.
Travel : Travel requirements up to 35% of the time.
Required Qualifications:
Certification in Digital (DDA versus CR), Film Radiography, and PT of Super Alloys per NAS 410 requirements.
General knowledge of all NDT methods used at aerospace locations.
Ability to interpret codes, standards, and other contractual documents.
Proficiency in preparing and verifying NDT procedures and techniques.
Experience in supervising and performing training in NDT methods.
Capability to produce, administer, and grade examinations for NDT personnel.
Strong decision-making skills based on customer specifications and visual inspections.
Additional Information:
This position requires adherence to all established safety practices and attendance at required training sessions.
The candidate must maintain related charts, records, reports, and sketches.
Perform a variety of other duties and tasks of equal or lesser complexity as needed.
