Staff Accountant

Description We are seeking a Staff Accountant to join our team in Glastonbury, Connecticut. This role is pivotal within our organization, focusing on the financial and accounting tasks related to construction projects. You will be tasked with analyzing financial data, conducting audits, providing financial advice to management, and utilizing accounting software to track financial transactions and create financial reports. This role offers a short term contract employment opportunity.Responsibilities: Oversee all financial operations related to construction projects Manage daily transactions, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations Review financial data and prepare monthly and annual reports, ensuring compliance with financial regulations Provide financial recommendations to management, based on financial performance and forecasted spending Prepare budgeting reports and track & control construction costs Liaise with internal team, clients, suppliers, and financial institutions Participate in regular tax audits and payroll Ensure all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed, and reported Implement and manage financial systems and software Stay updated with accounting laws and regulations Requirements Must possess working knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes. Proficiency in Bank Reconciliations is required. Experience in managing General Ledger is necessary. Ability to perform accurate Journal Entries is essential. Familiarity with Month End Close procedures is needed. Proficiency in using Sage Accounting Software is required. Experience in Financial Statement analysis and Financial Statement Preparation is essential.
